After the first 2 drives, the only TD yielded by the defense came after a long punt return set the Trojan offense up just outside the 10 yard line.

Then you have Caleb Williams who three times after losing to Utah, doesn’t had the sportsmanship or class to go out on the field and offer congratulations to the winning side.

utefansince79 replied to the topic Highlight of the night for me in the forum Football 1 year, 2 months ago
Riley had a fit when they had to burn a time out to avoid the delay of game penalty and crowd was livid.
USC should have done their homework, recognized this is a common Utah tactic, and known not to make offensive changes late in the play clock. Especially when the ball is on the hashmarks furthest away from the Ute sideline.

Very possibly Cam is weary from answering the same persistent questions every single interview.

utefansince79 replied to the topic ANOTHER day game – Oregon at Utah 1:30 kick in the forum Football 1 year, 3 months ago
As noted above, when I first followed Utah football, September/October games played in the evening and November games in the early afternoon with the entire schedule of dates/times known at the first of the season. (So no waiting until the week before the game if you can commit to any other event/activity on that upcoming game date). Of course…[Read more]

We’ve had a total of about 2 minutes of cloud total in all our day games combined so far.

I’ve noted many times before it’s just game and I most look forward to time spent with my father cheering on the team. In particular he gets a kick out of the rowdy fans in the North stands (we’re situated right on the goal line in the NE corner).

So Baylor did that in Waco. Bet the crowd was unhappy about that one.

Brutal. Can’t remember the opponent (seems it was someone from back east), but about a decade ago, a team paying a visit to UNLV, deep in Rebel territory in the closing seconds could have taken a knee but tried to score, and the Rebels forced a fumble which was run back for a winning TD. Oops.

utefansince79 replied to the topic The over/under from Vegas seems a bit high to me. in the forum Football 1 year, 3 months ago
Under seems like a safe bet, but perhaps Bishop can have a pair of pick-sixes and Johan a scoop/score to help put points on the board.

utefansince79 replied to the topic Riley's interview with Cam today. Puts to bed a bunch of rumors. in the forum Football 1 year, 3 months ago
Rose going out late in fall practice was an unexpected blow.
One challenge I would think you have with QBs is recruiting a competent experienced back up and telling them they ‘may’ play, but only if a couple others ahead of them get banged up. With most other positions, you can rotate players in to give them some reps, but QBs generally play the…[Read more]

Last year looked promising for a while with a blowout over visiting Zona (loved how every time the tired old U of A chant started it was quickly silenced by basket or defensive stop by Utah) a respectable showing against TCU and other good results, but a couple of key injuries completely derailed us the last month of the year. I’m hopeful we can…[Read more]

A very nasty late hit and hope he can recover. Season ending if not career ending. Can’t bring myself to watch the replay. Get well Bryson.

I hope that once some of the fans from the other Big 12 schools make a cautious visit to Rice-Eccles, they will be surprised to find that we’re a fairly friendly group and not quite as nasty as some of the BYU fans make us out to be.
If anything, those visitors hearing about all the beer being dumped all over opposing fans may be disappointed to…[Read more]

utefansince79 replied to the topic Why I want Oregon to crush Colorado in the forum Football 1 year, 3 months ago
Mixed feelings about this one. Deion (and the team) have that ‘attitude’ which fans love or hate.
With what’s going on after this season, list of how I feel about the teams (from most liked to most disliked)
Utah (naturally)
Wazzou and Oregon State (just horrible they are being left behind and likely headed to MWC)
Cal and Stanford (at least…[Read more] -
utefansince79 replied to the topic Level of excitement? in the forum Football 1 year, 4 months ago
UCLA is most important home game on the schedule for me (because the LA schools more than anything started the implosion of our once proud conference) so very excited for Saturday. But hoping we start getting some players back. Yes we have depth, but we’re going to inevitably get more players knocked around over the conference schedule and will…[Read more]

Nothing that I can find about this on the ESPN website.
Intuitively, 18 teams with a west division of Utah/BYU, Zona schools, Wazzou/OSU, Kansas schools, and Colorado and east division of the 9 others, could leave us in a stable league with much of our schedule being to closer schools.
As far as the football title game location, MWC found out…[Read more]

An intriguing matchup. Wish wasn’t played same time as our game.
Now that Colorado, with a completely overhauled roster has played a few games, opponents will be able to analyze game film and be better prepared.
