Arrive early to the game so we can all cheer loudly as the team takes the field. Cheer throughout the game and stay until the end to support the team, even if things aren’t going well. Enjoy the fall weather and being with the friends/family you attend the game with. Most of all…. GO UTES!

Another crisp autumn day game. Remember to put on sun screen, especially those of us on the east side.

A game I’m happy my seats are on the sunny east side. Little sunscreen and a jacket should make for a comfortable afternoon.

utefansince79 replied to the topic Big 12 Schedule 2024-2027 in the forum Football 1 year, 3 months ago
One posting somewhere today talked of “protected rivalries” (which undoubtedly means Utah versus BYU every year we both remain in the conference. I’ll simply note that many local fans like that, many others don’t. It is what it is. But every trip to Utah County is one less trip to a much more distant venue.

Thinking Cal and Stanford may be quite open to non-conference games against former PAC teams given the distance their conference games on the far side of the country will be.

Without looking yet at all 16 schedules, would think league might decide to have a some natural pairs (Kansas/KSU, Zona/ASU for example) playing every year.

We may know later today, but have they already indicated an 8 game (rather than 9 game) conference schedule?

With BYU now back to being a conference game, would like to see the return of the Battle of the Brothers.
Would just as soon visit Logan (always been an enjoyable trip) as other MWC venues in Fresno, San Jose, Laramie, etc.

We’ve gone 3-0 against the Golden State teams, and 0-2 against the Beaver State teams. Four games left against teams from Colorado/Arizona/Washington.

Start of the season I wanted wins over the LA schools more than anything else and out of those 2, would go with USC just because we beat them twice last year and heard endless excuses about bad calls in the first game and Caleb not being 100% in the second game (that is NOT why their defense gave up 47 points). Glad we went 2-0 against those two…[Read more]

As Covey caught the ball and starting running I exclaimed “why would they ever kick the ball to him?”. Then about 10 seconds later the stadium was shaking.

My wife never been much of a Neil Diamond fan at all. A few nights ago the commercial (for Jim Bean I believe) came on with the bar patrons singing and chanting Bah Bah Bah SO GOOD!!! SO GOOD!!! and my wife (doesn’t attend games with me) said “nowhere would any group of people ever act like that!”
I didn’t have the heart to tell her……

Lost a bit of history when the golf course closed. Back a long time ago, it was a full sized 18 hole course and hosted the Utah Open which was part of the PGA tour. Ben Hogan was one of the great legends that played that course in that tournament.

utefansince79 replied to the topic I don't the substitution rule, but I like the way Whitt uses it in the forum Football 1 year, 3 months ago
Idea behind the rule is (for example) the offense puts in 5 wide receivers, so defense changes to a dime package. But for the most part, Utah would change one defensive line man (invariably the one furthest from the Utah side line) for another defensive lineman.
Instead of yelling at the officials for correctly following the rules, USC should…[Read more]

utefansince79 replied to the topic Observations on our defense from Saturday night. in the forum Football 1 year, 3 months ago
After the first 2 drives, the only TD yielded by the defense came after a long punt return set the Trojan offense up just outside the 10 yard line.

Then you have Caleb Williams who three times after losing to Utah, doesn’t had the sportsmanship or class to go out on the field and offer congratulations to the winning side.

utefansince79 replied to the topic Highlight of the night for me in the forum Football 1 year, 3 months ago
Riley had a fit when they had to burn a time out to avoid the delay of game penalty and crowd was livid.
USC should have done their homework, recognized this is a common Utah tactic, and known not to make offensive changes late in the play clock. Especially when the ball is on the hashmarks furthest away from the Ute sideline.
