Nice to have a hoops game to get my minds off the game (and unfortunate aftermath) last Saturday.

Glad we’re trying to get a few more baskets inside as you can’t rely only on treys.

Hoping we can fare well on the road Sunday in Mississippi.

Calls in the secondary are some of the trickiest (and often most controversial) ones in football. Sometimes have a tightly officiated game where several PI and defensive holding are made each way, sometimes few or no such calls are made in the entire game.

I’ve always favored kicking into or past the end zone. Seems like a time or two a year someone takes it to the house against us.

That’s exactly why I don’t like to bad-mouth officials as it makes me look bad.

Been reading lots of postings from frustrated Utah fans saying negative things about the team and coaches for a while so statements from fools from other fan bases won’t really hurt my feelings.

But sometimes visitors are abusive in statements about our team, program, and fans, they can go a bit too far.

Certainly fans have a right to gripe. I choose to avoid it as others will often just call me a sore loser. As far as ‘season of destiny” (and 1984) goes.

They keep on winning, BYU won’t face a 6-5 Michigan team for the title, but will face the likes of Oregon, Ohio State, Georgia, Texas, etc. and need to beat several of them to lift the trophy. Was a gut wrenching heart breaker. We twice thought we had the game won but wasn’t meant to be.

Might be one thing that could help Utah and/or hurt BYU. I think Utah has been playing below our abilities (even with injuries) and BYU a bit above theirs. But momentum and confidence are sky high for the Cougars and rather low for Utah.

My heart is with Utah, and will be there tomorrow night to cheer for my team, but will be quite pleasantly surprised if we can pull this one off.

Will be curious to see the reception he gets when we visit the Marriott Center.

Sat through two doinks over the years. First was Kenashiro (for Utah) damned good kicker but had horrible timing on the few kicks he missed (in San Diego in OT and in Rice-Eccles against BYU. Other was the 2012 one (students rushed the field 3 times)

Have a strong moral and ethical objection to ever bet against my team.

The “shark” will be a lot of fun to watch.

Half a hundred trey attempts (which shattered the old team record of 40) is unsettling. Nights when those shots don’t fall will be rough. Hopefully we can be able to get into the paint more in conference play.

Really wish we would beef up the pre-season schedule.
