I don’t mind being resented because opposing fans want to see the higher ranked team fall. Teams I want to see fail the most are ones that have won the most over the years (Yankees, Lakers, Manchester United, Cowboys, etc.)
But I would rather not be disliked due to some of our players/fans being disrespectful to other schools and/or the…[Read more]

After last year in Tucson, regarding that last score, Whitt simply said it’s up to us to stop them. But the coaches, team, and fans will very remember and be motivated to give a hearty welcome to Sack Lake City on Saturday.
Glad it’s a night game (even as late as it is). Fans always louder and energetic when the sun goes down.

Wasn’t able to watch but was following the stats on my phone app. Wondered why Covey wasn’t returning punts. Hope he recovers.

Games seem to be called less harshly this season. (Examples are no call when Cam shoved into the hydration station, when Money hit after taking knee, and the targeting call on Tao being rescinded). Last season all 3 would have likely been called differently.

Loved the Cowboy crowd. Seemed most stayed around in very hot conditions and made a lot of noise and seemed to be having a fun boisterous time the whole way.
Teams just might meet again in December.

Part of the home advantage is being acclimated to condition including temperature, humidity, and altitude.
Humid heat will favor the Cowboys just and altitude will favor the Utes on the return trip to Salt Lake.

Always had a soft spot in my heart for Oklahoma State (who has played in the shadow of the teams I will not mention who departed for the SEC)
Looking forward to when the Cowboys pay a visit to Rice-Eccles and hope a lot of fans make the trip.

Two good teams taking the field in a few days and one of those good teams will walk out a loser. Don’t get too down on our team if we lose a well-fought battle as there is a lot of football still left to play.

Conference opener (and with 2 of the pre-season favorites) so both teams should come out full throttle.

Best feasible scenario, couple of mega-leagues of a couple dozen teams each with divisions where most of the former PAC12 teams are in the same division. 80% of conference play is your own division with the other 20% against teams in other divisions.
Utah has regular meetings with the teams like the Trojans, Bruins, Huskies, Ducks, etc., with…[Read more]

No need for sunscreen or danger of dehydration but means getting home well past midnight.

35-7 second half says it all.
That said, KUDOS to our brothers up in Logan for a spirited effort.

Wondering too would they eventually go after UNLV and/or Nevada (Reno)?
Indeed definitely a blow to our brothers up north.

Random thoughts
Do Cal / Stanford perhaps decide to go back (so most of their conference games in all sports aren’t 3 time zones away)?
Perhaps Air Force next to move over?
Obviously a blow to the Mountain West losing several key members.

Aggies fans and team will be fired up for our first visit up there in some time. But while Logan fans do a great job of cheering for their team, it isn’t nearly as unfriendly a place to visit as Provo is.

Saw many fans walking up the aisles carrying about half a dozen bottles of Dasani. Saw fans with armfuls of the frozen lemonades too. My allowed liter of water I took into the game was empty by half time when my father and I went under the bleachers to escape the sun for a bit. Nearest Hydration station was too far away to even try to get to…[Read more]

Worst case scenario playing in the middle of the day in late summer. Lots of fans on the concourse to try to get a break from the sun at halftime, and huge lines at the water filling stations.

Helps our SOS to have some of the conference do well against non-conference opponents. BYU winning at SMU helps us even though I find it difficult to pull for them.
