Would imagine due to about a century of tradition, the Rose Bowl parade and game will remain on Jan 1, no matter what teams / conferences are involved.

Felt strange not being able get up Sunday morning and not able to turn on the Pac12 network to see highlights of the conference games from the weekend.

One of the wifi boxes happens to be located under our bench.

Usually huge numbers of Utah fans up on the east stands at the game.

Wish work commitments didn’t keep me from going this year (would need to trade shifts for a hone game weekend) and it is always an enjoyable trip.

Lot of new faces. Hate all the turnover that will be part of college sports now with NIL making pretty much every player the equivalent of an unrestricted free agent each spring.

Unless we somehow make it to the Big Dance in March (not really optimistic that will happen) likely his last season.

I was on a few Big12 boards for a short time, left as there were way too many negative “fans” (or people posing as them) from the 2 Wasatch Front schools, but while there it became apparent listening to all the fan bases that they feel they have the worst officials in the land.

Before November, 6PM as it’s more of an atmosphere at night and you don’t get home too late. Not fond of 8PM as you get home well after midnight and it’s quite inconvenient for the east coast fans.

Late in the year, 1PM, just as it’s warmer when the sun is still up.

I pay lots of $$$$ (at least for my modest income it is a lot) and we are there well before the start of the game. We then stay until the end no matter what the weather is like or the outcome of the game. Why pay all that cash then not watch the entire performance?

Weekday games are tough for those that can’t take a day off (like I can). At least start time is 7 for this one.

We beat the T-birds by something like 60 last time didn’t we? Will be more excited next week for the Bears.

The real test will some during time outs and half time when large parts of the crowd are checking scores of other games and stats for our game.

Will miss getting up on Sunday morning, turning on the PAC12 network, and seeing highlights of all the conference games from the previous day. The Big12 section of ESPN+ doesn’t seem to have anything like that.

Other than failing to get distribution, the PAC12 network did a fairly good job.

There have been seasons through the years that Utah exceeds pre-season expectations, and years where Utah fails to meet them. This years expectations are very high, remains to be seen what the results are.

Always has been a favorite day trip with a pleasant scenic drive and friendly fans. Sadly have weekend coverage (and one of the few members of my staff who could switch with he is an USU alum who will be attending) so will have to skip the game this time.

No injuries, nice late summer evening weather.

For decades now the Holy War often sees underdogs give the favorites all they can handle. Could be a very competitive game come early November.

Seems it was inevitable that the BiG and SEC gradually absorb the most desirable teams from other conferences.

Best we may hope for is eventually is a lot of the former PAC12 members (including Utah) are together in a western division of the BiG.
