Andre received a hearty handshake from Jack Nicholson (who for many years had front row seats in the Forum) after he had a career game for the Nuggets in a playoff game against the Lakers.

Guess I didn’t take into account his games (if any) against them when coaching USU.

But while it is nice for any win over our rivals, it takes more than that to consider the last few years successful.

When it was 72-72, twice in a row we gave up offensive boards (where they just out hustled us to the ball) leading to 5 points for the Bearcats. Those were daggers.

Worster was by far our greatest loss in the transfer market. Wasn’t a player to have a 30pt triple double but was a consistent contributor who pretty much every single game had a good number of assists and rebounds and a handful of baskets and made relatively few errors. Never had any 2 for 14 games or had 5+ turnovers.

Indeed pretty much all of our regular players have their outstanding games, but none of them have had consistently good performances and most of them have had a number of rather bad outings.

A very respectable result came early in the year against Mississippi State (on a “neutral court” in the same state). Kept it close the whole way against a team projected (last I checked) as a 7 seed in the Big Dance.

I’m very happy we beat TD$$$$ who has a few players making more than some of the ones playing down at the Delta Center.

Dramatic ending last night against the Flyers. Utah ended a long losing streak with an OT goal with a fraction of a second left on the clock.

Blitz Kids is a good book that tells the story of this team.
