Agree 100%. I believe it’s seriously hurting the sport. The NCAA doesn’t have the guts to do anything and no one else seems to either, so here we are in this mess that we can’t backtrack on.

Not trying to be dramatic but this encapsulates everything about college football that is pushing me away from the sport. It’s getting ridiculous, yet no one is implementing boundaries on these things. Now the main focus is on $$$, whether that be transfers, conference realignment, etc etc.

Frankly, it’s a huge turnoff when all this stuff happens and fans are still expected to attend games, buy merchandise, donate to the collective, travel for bowls, etc etc while everyone else is concerned just about the money.

How is this sustainable? I listened to Joel Klatt talk about the Michigan kid that got $11 mil for his deal but said it will be null in the coming months with profit sharing on the horizon. Anyone have any insight or knowledge on this, and what that will look like going forward?

Glad to have something finally nailed down. Based on the rumors from this site, it’s disappointing we couldn’t land our first options but I think this will work out good. Hopefully Beck is given latitude to make offensive changes as he sees fit.

IF all these rumors are true about Whittingham not relinquishing control, refusing to retire etc., then this is reason to be massively frustrated. Especially after two mediocre years by our standards, this could really hurt our program.

Would being in the ACC bring in lower revenue than what we currently get from the Big 12? I remember seeing SMU taking a massive cut to joint.

They seem like the sibling who knows how to annoy you, but will eventually stop if you ignore them and don’t give the reaction they’re looking for. Sadly, there’s enough Utah fans who give in (understandably) that I think the zoobs will never shut up.

Seems fine to me as well. That’s just nature of the rivalry where people know what will annoy the other fans without stepping over a line.

I agree with you. I’m looking at big 12 pages along with TDS and other XII school pages and they all collectively hate our guts and explicitly want us to leave. This BYU team gives me 2022 TCU vibes where they get every break (with officiating help) and then will get the doors blown off in a playoff game.

I’m hoping he stays as well, but I’m fearful this year has shaken him and he’ll leave for BYU as soon as the portal opens. It’s his brothers school and feels like a safety net for him.
