I think we are going to the Big 12. But in the unlikely event they chose to stay with the remnants of the PAC 12, there would be substantial pressure to terminate them.

This analysis is interesting. Great work. One side note, Army and Navy’s high viewership score make me wonder if the formula needs a small tweak. I can’t recall many big televised games outside of the army-navy game, and perhaps a matchup with ND, where numbers would be driven by the opponent. Do they really get strong viewership on other games?

Whether or not he deserves it, I want him to win. It will only further immortalize the time Utah defeated the Heisman winner twice in a single season: the first time when our QB beat him in a straight shootout, and the second time when our whole team took him to the woodshed. His fingernail dig will forever be matched with Cam’s quote, “I hope he liked it.”

It is sort of ironic that Utah beat USC to get the honor of the last traditional Rose Bowl.

USC is the favored son of the Rose Bowl. They live in the same neighborhood and have all the championships and Heismans. They have played in the Rose Bowl 34 times, more than anyone.

But they sold their football tradition birthright for team “free agent” and BIG money. And the old ways of college football rose up and smote them down.

It is already there, win or lose. I cannot think of a season that is better outside of 2004 and 2008.

Totally agree. Even the NFL has this problem at times. It was either the Giants or the Pats game this week (can’t recall which), and they had the same issue. Goal line play that looked good and no angle to confirm a touchdown. No excuse for the lack of pylon cams in the age of cheap camera technology and instant replay.

That is a good point. Next year and the year after could be better than we think.
