  • I wholeheartedly reject the short-term-memory, “what have you done for me lately”, rats jumping off of a ship when they feel a drop of water idea that this staff is inept. The thing about riding or dying is that sometimes you’re riding, and sometimes you’re dying. It’s important to realize you have to give your confidence and support through both.…[Read more]

Yeah that sucked. A lot. The failed fourth down knowing Cam couldn’t plant and throw past the sticks was a big coaching blunder. Linebackers are also making uncharacteristically poor decisions; injuries have hurt the position but Lander made a few odd mistakes that hurt us. Jonathan Hall has the physical talents, but he looks to still be getting…[Read more]

Paraphrasing, but I remember Saban saying something along the lines of “nobody wants to win more than they do, and nobody feels worse than when they lose”. I try to imagine how nervous I’d be trying to do my job in front of 55k people in person and another few million at home, then add that Hercules Mata’afa dude chasing you the entire time. Or…[Read more]

This still has the makings of a very solid class. Aaron Dunn is an excellent commitment. Remember that these are kids making a decision they’re very excited about, and can take them from a terrible situation to one which they’ve been working their whole lives towards. I feel it’s important to focus on the positive instead of the negative.…[Read more]

USC looks like the favorite, but it would be very nice to have him. Utah has a reputation of being a physically tough team to play. In the past that has resulted in consistency and reeling off some wins against some VERY talented rosters. Ironically… like USC. Same blueprint worked for Wisconsin vs Miami, Iowa vs USC, and even Michigan vs…[Read more]

  • With all of the sh*t he went through, and how he handled it so well, I hope nothing but the best for him.

  • Utes should be fine. Show up to games, be loud, and support on the road if you can. Utes will have a target simply because many media outlets and personalities have their championship pick as OSU, KSU, or Utah. Plus it could always be worse – imagine how weird it is to be an ASU/BYU fan getting off the plane and seeing you’re the only one walking…[Read more]

  • There’s quite a bit of time left between now and any signings, but this class is getting commitments WAY ahead of schedule. Cracking the top 50 used to be a October/November tradition.

Huntley was the most athletic human on earth who didn’t slide. I recall a bunch of his runs were because a hole opened up and the defender in space wasn’t wearing his seatbelt. No Kincaid this year, but I have cautious optimism for the WR group – ideally this pans out to be an offense where Cam can elevate everyone else with his play and then have…[Read more]

What’re everyone’s thoughts on “amateur” athletes being directly compensated now? I think this is much more fair to the athletes who are choosing to represent their college, but it looks like there will be some bumps. Excerpt from an NPR article below, detailing if all athletes will be paid:

“No. Football players and men’s basketball players at…[Read more]

  • I lean yes but think it’ll come down to health (no s***) and the secondary. Aside from the game where Cameron Smith was Utah’s leading receiver, the games in which Utah saw itself setback or derailed from a CCG were those involving some five star manchild WR: N’Keal Harry, Ju-Ju, Pittman, and even McMillan (not a manchild, but he’s the favorite…[Read more]

I respectfully disagree. JJ came across the country, endured the loss of two of his best friends, swapped positions to help the team, and had absolutely zero off the field issues while doing all of it. I hope he rushes for 2000 yards with his only injury being a sprained wrist from cashing in gigantic NIL deals.

  • Implies the heavy use of medicinal cowbell

  • This dude racked up a dozen sacks as a 20 year old. Very possible he isn’t even in his final form.

  • I remember the zoob STIdent section, in the mix of a sugar rush and ignorance, chanting “overrated” prior to the 2019 game. Whitt’s most consistent quality seems to be his high floor; very few mental mistakes in a game. Assuming Krindor’s data holds, there’s a good possibility we end up around this ranking come the end of the season, which means…[Read more]

  • I’ll still take it. In the past ~decade your average college fan has gone from not being able to find Utah on a map to reading/hearing about the program in mock drafts, preseason rankings, pig farming, etc.

(the fact that half the country is moving here also might have something to do with it)

  • “Our stadium is very nice”

    > Proceeds to give two paragraphs about why it needs to be torn down, remodeled and given a better playing surface.

Now for some nice things: First is that the views are top-tier. Hit that nail on the head. Second, I’ve heard you give out ice cream to visiting fans, which is very kind. Third, the entire program being…[Read more]

  • I’ll guess the domino effect first:

    > Cam’s been punting again.
    > Kuithe tried it too when they were both rehabbing.
    > Lud’s gonna run a 4th down double RPO TE sweep where Cam can run it, pass it, punt it, or give hand it to Kuithe who can then also run it, pass it, bop it, twist it, or boot it.

  • Well researched list! Only critique is I think it needs more Kenneth Scott and Gionni Paul. I am heavily biased with the latter, but that dude was a fire hydrant on legs who was ALL OVER the field. Also very tempted to put in Ty. Very, very small sample size but I just remember being blown away watching him against CU and WSU. I can’t bring myself…[Read more]

Larry Scott deserves most of the blame by gambling on the PAC12 network; the big matchups between Oregon/USC, Stanford/UCLA, etc. seemed to fade into the “P12 After Dark” background, and the conference as a whole lacked any consistent national contenders, whereas other conferences were perennially represented within the CFP.

    I personally think…[Read more]
