Now for some nice things: First is that the views are top-tier. Hit that nail on the head. Second, I’ve heard you give out ice cream to visiting fans, which is very kind. Third, the entire program being…[Read more]

I’ll guess the domino effect first:
> Cam’s been punting again.
> Kuithe tried it too when they were both rehabbing.
> Lud’s gonna run a 4th down double RPO TE sweep where Cam can run it, pass it, punt it, or give hand it to Kuithe who can then also run it, pass it, bop it, twist it, or boot it. -

Well researched list! Only critique is I think it needs more Kenneth Scott and Gionni Paul. I am heavily biased with the latter, but that dude was a fire hydrant on legs who was ALL OVER the field. Also very tempted to put in Ty. Very, very small sample size but I just remember being blown away watching him against CU and WSU. I can’t bring myself…[Read more]

Larry Scott deserves most of the blame by gambling on the PAC12 network; the big matchups between Oregon/USC, Stanford/UCLA, etc. seemed to fade into the “P12 After Dark” background, and the conference as a whole lacked any consistent national contenders, whereas other conferences were perennially represented within the CFP.
I personally think…[Read more]

UteNamedOg replied to the topic Ranking total NIL spend in the forum Football a year ago
Joel Klatt had an excellent monologue on NIL, see below. I think athletes getting paid is a good thing, with pros outweighing cons; example being the outreach that the Crimson Collective does with charities, and players staying longer in college, not feeling pressured to leave so they can support themselves, family, or friends. Micah Bernard…[Read more]

This may be me drinking the red kool aid, but 11-1. I flipped a coin to decide the loss between the two “dubious but talented” away games in UCF and Buffs.
Travis Hunter is a damn cheat code. OkSt’s Ollie Gordon is the same, but they had the 122nd ranked defense last year. Colorado was actually *worse* on defense but Deion’s efforts in the…[Read more]

Couldn’t agree more. Lots of change between then and now, but Fifita is an excellent QB and I have terrible memories of bigger WRs being very present in Utah losses over the years. On the other side, it is VERY difficult to beat Utah at home and at full strength, unless you’re Chris Petersen. That dude tuned us up.
I figure if you’re nervous just…[Read more]

Maybe. Whitt would be a placeholder – conjecture, but he seems to follow the “I’ll do it until I can’t do it at 100% mantra”.
I do, however, think he would be successful at Michigan. His persona of being very serious, disciplined, and deliberate seems to work well with teams (technically team) whose play-style is the same. Of course, this is a…[Read more]

Rivals: Bagpipe-Y-U and ASU.
Mutual Respect: Arizona, KSU, and Colorado.
Frisky: Tough one. Utes have had issues with teams who have a freak manchild on their roster: Juju Smith-Schuster, Hercules Mata’Afa, N’Keal Harry, and most recently Anthony “dammit there he goes again” Richardson. I lean UCF. Their program just signed a large and…[Read more]

I do agree with the coaching philosophy – the 2015 equipment manager probably had to order an angle grinder just to get the maize + blue paint out of Gionni’s facemask. I also agree that Utah should accept the share of the 2008 natty.
Just from an observer’s standpoint I feel Whitt is comfortable here. He gets paid very well, lives close to…[Read more]

Eagles offense wasn’t exactly the greatest in 2023, but him being 36 and getting head coaching interviews is a very positive sign. I hope/think he has a very long career ahead of him.

Anyone know his story? Listed as a higher 3 star ATH at 6’3/225. He did the whole nine yards with offer, visit, and commit, in about three months. Decommitted in November and has gone from listed as “Favorite” for the Utes to having no interest in any schools.
(Extra points to whoever can tell me the same for Manny Bowen.)
