  • They get their starting safety back from the targeting suspension.

  • Where’s the offense we were running last week?
We lost the effectiveness, but kept the penalties.

  • I’ve only ever been confident that Utah would beat BYU maybe 3 or 4 times – 2010, 2008, 2004, & 2003.
Here’s 10 reasons why I’m not confident we win today:
    1) Huntley’s inexperience – While the coaches think he is better than Williams, I’m worried his lack of experience is going to lead to some costly turnovers.
    2) OL inexperience – They…[Read more]

I was concerned about the tempo Taylor planned on implementing but was pleased to see the offensive tempo Thursday night. Other than maybe two times, I thought we looked like we were moving quickly when it was advantageous and slowed things down likewise. At no point did I think we were moving at a breakneck pace where we were out of control or…[Read more]

I don’t think there is any comparison to be made here. UNLV was a steaming pile of garbage that we had no business losing to, let alone getting crushed that way. We were coming off of the 44-6 whooping of #11 UCLA and I think it was that back-to-back combination of the UCLA & UNLV games when Kyle and the players realized how much potential we had…[Read more]

  • And I couldn’t be happier about it.
I didn’t think LSU had it in them given all of the player and coach turnover, and it looks like I bought into the BYU off-season hype just a bit too much.
I also had BYU beating Utah this year. Let’s hope I’m just as wrong about that one as I was this one.

  • In my pre-season predictions I picked BYU over LSU. With how things have played out over the last couple of weeks I am even more convinced that BYU will beat LSU. This isn’t to say that BYU is some world beater destined for the CFP, BYU just seems to catch teams like this at the right time. Texas, Oklahoma, UCLA, Michigan State, Mississipi State,…[Read more]

  • If I recall the rule correctly, it was the right call. To my recollection, players are not allowed to point to opposing players or the crowd in celebration like he did. That said, it is one of the dumbest rules in the game.
I thought Joe Williams was going to have one of his long TD runs against UCLA wiped out last year because he started…[Read more]

  • I looked it up, and you’re right, Utah State didn’t average 3 wins per year for 30 years. In the 30 years before Gary took over in Logan(1979-2008), the Aggies averaged 4 wins per year. HUGE difference, right? They had 4 winning seasons during that stretch(7-3 in ’79, 6-5 in ’80, 7-5 in ’93, & 6-5 in ’96).

Gary took over a program that had known…[Read more]

  • Well, they’ve come on strong during the 2nd quarter. USF now leads 21-16, so whatever it was it seems they are overcoming it or the Spartans have come back to reality.

  • No kidding. Just tuned in to see what SJSU looks like and had to do a double take at the score. 16 – 0 Spartans.

I suppose a couple of factors at play here could be that USF is playing on the opposite coast, and that kind of travel often has a big impact on the road team. More importantly, they have a new HC in Charlie Strong. Then again, maybe…[Read more]

Brady is the best QB of all time. However, Elway is the only other one who comes close.

Montana, Marino, Kelly, Favre, Manning, and everyone else are all well behind Brady & Elway.

  • Troy was a team captain last year. They had the players vote for team captains prior to naming a starter. They had to know there was a great chance Troy would be voted captain again. If they were just stringing him along to keep him from transferring, I believe they would have held off on selecting captains until after it was announced Huntley was…[Read more]

  • It seems like all camp, when the coaches would talk about the QB race, they made it sound like Williams was more efficient and was taking better care of the football than Huntley(i.e. not turning it over as often). The word on Huntley seemed to be that he was making some big plays on occasion and could extend plays with his legs, but took some…[Read more]

  • Quick suggestion for this great place: Private Message Alert Notifications
I just happened to click on my profile and found I had a private message from 10 days ago that I had no idea was there before now. It would be a nice feature if there were some sort of alert or notification at the top of the page that told us we had a private message.

  • Flipping through the guide and stumble across this Seattle Seahawks vs Los Angeles Chargers pre-season game.

I knew they had planned on moving, but it still hasn’t sunk in yet that the Chargers are no longer the San Diego Chargers. It just seems wrong.

Will he be calling plays from the booth or the sideline?
With this being the first year running his offense with our players, I think it might be better if he were on the sideline just so he can interact directly with the offensive players between each series. Then again, I think the viewpoint OCs get from the booth is invaluable as far as…[Read more]
