Whatever helps us win I’m in favor of.

Vaki was awesome playing 2 ways a couple of years ago. As was Eric Weddle.

Back in the 80s I wonder if we should have used one of my favorite Utes, Errol Tucker, occasionally on offense. He was so electric with the ball in his hands.

If they are going to contribute more than 1 or 2 big plays this season, they will need to do what Vaki and Weddle did, which is contribute in more ways than 1. With Vaki there were a few different runs he could pull off, and he was a home run threat in the passing game as well. He was a legitimate running back. With Weddle, he could throw, run, catch, and even punt the ball.

The very fact that we are discussing crap like this is one reason why I hate being in the same conference as those tools. That can sometimes filter down to the conference because we are stuck here right now. Ask yourself this, if BYU was NOT in the Big 12, would you have a different feeling toward the Big 12? I know I sure would. It is not the conference that I hate, it is the fact that we have to be in this conference with a team and fan base that I hate.

Wow! This was like a good therapy session! Thanks! 🙂

Gimmick players are not a good thing IMO. When they come in, everyone knows what is about to happen. If they are going to play both ways all the time, and they are capable of it, fine. It doesn’t even have to be close to every snap, just enough so that it isn’t obvious what we are about to do when they come on the field. That was one of Ludwig’s biggest flaws, I sure hope we don’t have the same problem with Beck.

This is either being done as a way to drum up publicity and excitement for these players, or the players we have on offense aren’t getting the job done.

I typically would agree with you. Those singly play schemes where it is so obvious what is about to happen is bad. I just like the idea of Snowden returning kicks. We need more explosiveness on ST and if he can give it to us, awesome.

Returning kicks is not the same thing as playing on offense. Obviously, whoever is returning kicks, everyone knows who is going to return the kick unless there are onside kicks or other shenanigans ensue.

I thought something was weird when I called the other day to get UCLA tickets and said to pay with card on file. She said they had new system and payment info was not transferred. Now this makes sense. The lack of any communication about this seems like someone dropped the ball.

That also probably is a reason Dampier is supposedly connecting so well. Reports are that he is always treating the team to things.

Lander was an excellent TE in high school. Not sure I like the idea but I get it.

It’s because apparently they’ve only told the season ticket holders who are on a payment plan? If you were on a payment plan, they texted you if you didn’t update your info you’d lose your tickets I guess.

If you look for the emails about buying single game tickets from like July 7th, it tells you to create your paciolan account. The AD really dropped the ball here IMO. I think we’ll have lots of confused people for the first game
