I think dystopiamembrane is just trying to beat Pace for the largest number of downvotes.

I remember the NCAA saying that fall sports would not be allowed at schools who are only offering online courses (perhaps they changed this statement recently, but I haven’t seen that). The article states that USC is still planning some hybrid courses, so I think they are still technically allowed to play fall sports for now. Things definitely look grim, though.

Yeah, Baylor seems like a probable destination for him, but we’ll see. Hopefully this speculation is as good as the original predictions for Ricky Parks to Iowa 😉

Yeah, it would be interesting to see if they’ll move the season to this Spring, as that may be the only way football happens for the 2020-2021 school year. I’ve seen rumors that the NCAA isn’t willing to do that right now, though (I don’t know the rationale).
My only concern with a Spring season is that we may experience a second wave of COVID in the winter months. If that happens, then there may be the same issues as what we’re currently having with teams trying to get prepared for the season, but players testing positive could force shutdowns. Perhaps if the season started in April/May, this wouldn’t be an issue, but then would there be a Fall 2021 season?

Awesome news! Welcome to Utah, Ricky!
On a separate recruiting note, I’m hoping we can land Marcel Brooks, the OLB transfer out of LSU. If you look at his list of offers on 247, we are one of the schools with the lowest number of OLB on the roster, in terms of returning players and commits (3 total). Virginia Tech is the only other school with that low of a number, assuming these numbers are correct. In addition, he was initially recruited as a safety, so he could be bumped there if needed.
Of course, I’m sure more schools than what are listed on 247 will reach out to this kid, and we don’t know why he’s interested in leaving LSU. If it’s for playing time, then we would be an excellent choice for him, especially with how well players are trained here.

Pace, what happened to your post about Dick Cheney wearing a mask? I remember seeing it on Misc yesterday, but I can’t find it now…

Who is BLM murdering?

I agree, as long as businesses are making people wear masks and enforcing safe social distancing.

The problem with your suggestion is that we don’t know if antibodies produced from the initial infection will protect against later infections. There have been reports of antibodies only lasting a few months within previously infected patients, and mutated forms of the virus may be immune to antibodies produced from the initial virus infection.
I don’t think everyone needs to hide in their homes, but people NEED to be willing to adapt to wearing masks and practicing social distancing in public. If we want to start doing the things we like again (going to restaurants, bars, movies, etc.), everyone needs to be willing to join in the preventative measures. The government shouldn’t need to mandate mask wearing, but too many ignorant folks don’t follow the guidelines, resulting in forced mandates and the potential closing of businesses that don’t enforce these policies.
