We would have to go on a hot streak just to swirl and you can’t go on streaks when you can’t win road games.

Substitution Patterns and Lineup Uncertainty
“Perhaps the most maddening aspect of the inconsistency theme is the substitution patterns, which have been discussed for much of the season. The rotations appear to lack continuity, with players often not knowing when or how long they will be on the floor.
This uncertainty can lead to lapses in f…[Read more]

Good stuff. What is Dawes’ deviation.
My assumption is he has the most whiplash of any Utah player, 20 minutes one night, 2 the next.

Thanks Miami.
247 composite, popular opinion’s best recruiting rating source, has us #44 in composite avg talent score per recruit.
By same source and metric:
We were #36 in 2024.
We were #24 in 2023.
We were #36 in 2022. -

By the numbers Mason should be taking these minutes. But that would be awkward for Craig because you know, you’re messing with family.

There’s retribution coming for Harlan’s sh!t fit. I don’t think that ended with the fine. Though there is less predictability than ever, I expect the schedule to be slanted against us (road game travel, road game opponent, bye week timing, etc).

Mason also underutilized and I think his recent game minutes are below his season average, not trending the right way.

Good stuff.
Would be interesting to see minutes per game added to the side of BPM in your list. This would highlight the underuse of certain high impact players and overuse of certain low impact players.

Majerus didn’t keep his best scorer (Van Horn) off the court because he didn’t play defense.
Majerus stressed defense, yet he saw the net gain with Van Horn on the court.
This team is ranked 132nd in scoring defense, so how well does anyone on this team play defense?
As was posted earlier, Dawes plus/minus is second best on the tea…[Read more]

7.8 ppg
5.3 rpg
67% fg%
220 minutes played
560 total game minutes
39% playing time or 16 mpg
0.6 points per minuteThere is only one way to stop Keanu Dawes from scoring and rebounding, sit him on a chair. He’s playing 16 mpg, he should be playing 36 mpg.
Pettiness over performance.

FWIW – I don’t like Smith and I’m constantly shaking my head at his terrible recruiting, his personnel and rotation decisions, poor attention to defense, free throw shooting etc, and his nauseating Pollyanna BS.

I’m with Rick, Guillory is a talent we should all be excited about. Many blue blood offers. Tape is great, north south runner, burst, vision. Talent plays, don’t care about age.

Yep, we should be promoting Raycine Guillory. Have you seen his offer list?! Georgia, Ohio St, Michigan… He’s a talent.

Ty was all world as a FR. Zack was impactful as well. We played the wrong Freshmen in Wilmore and Brumfield, should have been Bernard.
We have had ready FR RBs, need to become more reliant on them. Not saying you do it with bigger learning curve positions (QB), but RB is not one of those positions.

Spring camp will reshuffle the deck and flush out more talent. I think it’s smarter to wait for supply and talent replenishment than to commit to current limited supply.
We should probably also count on our 2 incoming freshmen to deliver. They’re more talented than what is in the portal currently and underclassmen have been delivering in CFB for…[Read more]

He is a missing piece for us. Say what you want about NM and UNLV backups that joined us, the staff isn’t done recruiting RB. We need at least two RB1’s and we have one.
Surprise move from Woods. Was it strictly a money move for him? Playing opportunity was here for him.

My angle was more had we moved on from Cam earlier with Ludwig at the OC helm, 2024 might have looked something like 2023. This would have kept Ludwig in place and wouldn’t have brought on this needed change this early. Call it 2024’s silver lining.
