Meh. I don’t like that. If it’s true, take the high road and show some class, then enjoy the newfound success.

If it’s partially true but also cover for one’s own lack of progress to any degree, then it can allow a mindset that a player could hide behind and stunt further progress.

That can be attributed to a variety of variables in the equation though, right?  It opens up a leverage point for players, if they wish to use it.  In Latu’s case, he may or may not understand that he could do what you suggest, but either way it sounds like his priority is Alabama.

That is him putting himself at risk with the negotiating power he holds, but he may well figure that if he can’t get his priority, there are still several options that are good enough as backup plans, even in February. 

The players and their families will learn how to navigate this new option after a couple of years, not to mention the recruiting coaches at the various levels of name brand schools.

@ladyinred I don’t recall anything like that toward me… But I can have that effect since I enjoy those discussions about ideas,which sometimes can become personal in spite of best intentions. Anyway, I agree with the spirit of this thread and also don’t mean to offend anyone by expressing opinions, but can go overboard as well at times.

Just play fantasy so you can only care about your players and p**s off your buddies who still have a favorite team. Nfl is much better that way, imo.
