If I were the UTES I would move heaven and hell to get Alex Atkins to come over of the UTES as OC. He has had a down year with Florida State which has resulted in him being let go. But in all reality he is a victim of the inept Mike Norvell trying to save his hide as head coach. Alex Atkins is an ace recruiter and any solid players Florida State has had recently has come from him. All the recruits that have left were there because of Alex. He would bust the Florida pipeline wide open and would build on our run heavy approach, as he is the OL coach as well.

Well than….I completely understand that after Rising our perspective is only IW. I just am not on board with riding that horse, because that is all we know. Take it or leave it. However we better have something between IW,Huard, Rose, Becker or to be named transfer. If not we are in for a very mediocre period of Utah football. It won’t be too long before we see our other positions of recruiting fall off because of our lack of ability to bring in a stud at quarterback!

Not necessarily looking at the stars but just what he did in high school. Cal poly sucked! No doubt Huard was part of that suck, but he definitely didn’t have any help on offense.

Fantastic perspective! Now talk amongst your neighbors about that, and leave your anti D1 football perspectives with those that aren’t talking about how much they love D1 football.

No doubt he is quality. I am just making the point that for this young man’s future in football he needs to be seen. If he is just about an education, that is great. That should be the most important long range achievement. However if he is about the opportunity to make great money immediately, he needs to take advantage of his athletic ability and get play time. High character is what we all want for our children. But all our children don’t have the athletic ability that Sam Huard has.

I think that we win in convincing fashion. That of course comes with a Whitt Twist! Allow Utah State to flirt with upset and then just crap on the Aggies and then play ball control offense to end the game. Quarters 2 and 3 is where are points will be scored.

I think there is a strong possibility. Jay Hill brings history, experience, stability. However there are so many defensive coaches that have played at Utah or coached at Utah that are coaching currently. Jay Hill is at or near the top of that list most definitely.

Just one person to highlight on the current staff is Colton Swann as DC. He has done an outstanding job with the LBs for the last 6 years. He has recruited hard and made LBs a position of strength for the UTES. Prior to Utah served many years at Weber as LBs and or DC. Then I say we bring on Trevor Reilly to be the LB coach.

Selfishly, I want him to stick around for insurance purposes. However since we are all becoming IW fans I doubt Huard will have a chance. Next year we have BR, IW, Wyatt Becker. We have Crystal ball lean for Brady Palmer right now QB out of California.I am also assuming we bring in another veteran to stabilize the QB group next year. Huard would be the most senior QB we got but, going against IW will be an uphill climb. If I am Huard and obviously I’m not I’m going somewhere that offers me the starting gig no questions asked and just ball out and cross my fingers for a professional look.

I really don’t think Shah wants to be DC. I think he likes being CB/special teams.
